Located in Rockwall county, Rockwall is a suburb of Dallas with a a current population of 46,150. It is 25 miles east of downtown Dallas, and 22 mile from DFW Airport.

What to know...
Rockwall has a small town vibe with a super-walkable downtown district, and variety of locally owned shops and restaurants. In the summer and fall, live music events liven up San Jacinto Plaza. It’s a good balance of small-town life, great schools, and reasonable access to a world-class city.
Rockwall also has some of the most highly-rated schools in the state, the RISD has earned an “A” rating for two consecutive years under the Texas Accountability Rating System. As of 2020, there are over 18,000 students who make up 15 elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, the Burton College and Career Academy, and the Rockwall Quest Academy, an alternative education program. The Rockwall ISD contains all or parts of Rockwall, Heath, Fate, McLendon-Chisolm, and Rowlett.
There are a few parks and playgrounds in Rockwall, TX, including Rockwall City Park, Harry Meyers Running Trail, and Jewel Park. These playgrounds provide great recreational facilities for kids, as well as adults. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Lake Pointe in Rockwall County, on the west side of Lake Ray Hubbard along SH 66, is a general medical and surgical facility and recognized for their work with stroke patients. They’ve also recently opened a three-story patient tower.
Sapphire Bay, expected to open in fall 2023 a new hotel will be located on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, with features such as a Crystal Lagoons amenity and an island entertainment component with an incredible synchronized water and video show; a resort and conference center; a world class marina; and the Surf and Beach Club.
